I have an order for a 12x18 double layer with filling. If I am reading it right, Wilton Yearbook has a 12x18 double layer serving 72. But the Wilton School for Decorating Cakes Book has a 12x18 serving 56. I need to be able to tell the customer the right number of servings. Does someone smarter than me have the correct answer?

Thank you and God Bless, Vera

It will depend upon how big you cut the slices. Those charts are never exact...

I wonder too if it depends on how deep your 12 x 18" pan is. Anyone know if they come in both 3" and 2" depths? Have to wonder. A double stacked 12 x 18" is A LOT of cake. I made this once for my hubby's office and it doesn't need to be sliced very deep or wide because of the height of each slice. I bet you could feed 70 people with this much cake easy!
