Gift Box Cake

Anyone have ideas on the gift box cake with tissue sticking out. I know that the tissue should be gumpaste, but what do you make the top out of.

don't know how many people you need to serve but you can make it out of cake and put it on a cake board so serving is easier

I think the top is made out of cake!!!! You just put it on it's own cake board and then dowl the bottom cake to support it!!1 Someone on here and I were discussing it and she made one....and it worked perfectly....maybe I can find the thread

I can pm you what I did if you'd like.....I used fondant for everyithing including tissue paper.....and my lid was cake too ...on its on board.....cake total was 2 1/2 layers....I keep meaning to add my instructions for what I did in my post when I did it....

khalstead is the one who told me to dowel the bottom...and glad I did! Except I used sticks because I didnt have dowels icon_biggrin.gif

Sure twinsline that would be greatly appreciated I could use all the help I can get with this. I am making it for my FIL birthday and some female friends of his thought is was a universal cake. Thanks again for your help, cake sizes ect that you used would be wonderful and any tips that would help me.

franjmc and godiva have made beautiful ones from memory, check out their photo descriptions and send them a pm ..... I am sure they can help.

Can't wait to see the pic..... I would love to try one but its a little out of my comfort zone but I love seeing them.
