When you add a fabric ribbon to a cake does it have to be wired or can you just use any ribbon?

I am so nervous!!!! I am doing my first anniversary cake ... for my grandparents tonight. I bought regular ribbon without the wire. Do I need to make a quick dash to the store????

Sorry, I should have mentioned if you go to page 2 of this post, I describe how I used the ribbon. I didn't realize it was on the 2nd page and thought you would see it on the first page.

Good Luck!

Yes, as it turned out, due to the way I spaced the flowers, the flower did hide the pin, however, it looked pretty even without the flower. It had one of those little pearl heads on it and it worked well with the cake. Yours may, or may not, but it's an option I suppose.

Good luck! I am sure it will turn out beautiful. After all, it will also be made with love, right!?! icon_wink.gif

I know what you mean by being nervous. I was a nervous wreck about doing this. As I got about 1/2 way to 3/4 of the way done I was even more nervous. I didn't think it was going to all come together in the end. I sigh a big sigh of relief when I was done. I could have never have done it had I not learned so many tips on this site. I am so glad I found this place before I baked this!
