I'm not very experienced in FBCT. I did my second one this weekend using parchment paper and had a heck of a time getting it off the paper. (it had been in the freezer for 4 days). What a mess - Poor Bob the Builder! Is there something else I'm supposed to be using besides parchment?

I always use wax paper...just because I have it around all the time...but what I do is...once it's set in the freezer....maybe an hour or so.....I peel it off of the paper with my hand, just to release it....then I lay it back down on the paper and lay another piece of paper over it and bag it up when I keep it more than a few hours...just to keep flavors from mingly in the freezer..yuck!! Anyhow.......I usually make my pieces kind of thick so they're nice and sturdy and I can usually pick them up in one piece and actually lay it on my cake with my hand instead of having to smoosh it into the cake and peel back the paper

IMHO, both waxed paper and parchment paper are too absorbent. I tape the design to the bottom of the same size cake pan I used or will use for the cake. That way, I'm certain the size is right. No surprises. Then, I smooth plastic wrap over that and tape the edges down to the side of the pan. You have to make sure it's perfectly smooth, or you'll get wrinkles in your final product, but that's not hard to do. Plastic wrap releases MUCH better than either kind of paper.

Maybe you can rub just a little bit of butter or crico on the wax or parchment paper before you do the transfer ( I think I read that some were in here ) That way it will release no problem .Caixa
