I made a batch of cookies yesterday and nothing was the same as usual. I always use No-Fail with RBC. My cookies very cold when cut I them and they spread alot when baked which I usually don't have a problem with and my RBC was very greasy. I kept adding powdered sugar and that helped. It poured rain all day yesterday. Do you think the weather caused this? I know there are somethings you cannot make on a rainy day (divinity for example), but this was really strange. I did nothing diffierent. Is there that much extra moisture in the air?

Yes, rain plays a huge factor when making confections. Humidity also in the summer months. I never make chocolates on days when its raining or very humid because it just changes everything. Good luck!

My dear....you are in KY!!! I'm tellin' ya....our weather plays havoc with things that others SWEAR it doesn't! LOL I'm from Madisonville KY and the weather messes around with everything!!

My buttercream won't crust in high humidity and literally slides off the cake. This is even in CLIMATE CONTROL situations!

So, YEP it's the weather!

OHHHHHHHHHH Rain!!!!!!!! Here in NC whenever it rains I don't even walk into my kitchen! I don't know what it is, but NOTHING comes out right when it rains.

And to top that off - here comes summer with the late afternoon rains and the humid air that will about knock you out!!!!

COME BACK FALL!!!!!!
