Hello,

My sister-in-law called me this weekend complaining that her cake did not rise. She asked me if I knew what to do, I didn't, But I told her I would ask all of you and I was sure someone would have a good answer. She does use boxed cake mix and follows the direction for high altitude, but they are very flat. Does anyone know how to answer her question?

Not sure but I live at a high altitude and never use the HA directions and I never have any problems. Maybe she could try the regular mix directions?! Don't know if it will work but I would try it! icon_biggrin.gif

i live in high altitude also and never adjust for HA as it never seems to turn out correctly. Boxed or scratch i use follow regular recipe with no adjustments.

I live in high altitude as well and some times I use HA directions sometimes not. I just forget a lot. I wonder if her oven is cooking to cool? When I'm trying to get a flatter cake I always turn my oven down.
