Attached is a copy of a monogram that I would like to do for tomorrow. I have PM her to see how she did this but I am worried that she won't be able to get back to me in time.

Does anyone have ideas of how to do this? I purchased bead wire this weekend and made one but I am afraid it will be to flimsy and won't stand up. ?? I am placing it into a bouquet of flowers just like her picture shows.

Her note says she used Crystals from a craft store, so I'm guessing that's just heavy gauge jewelry wire, with the crystal-look beads strung on it, then shaped to the monogram however you like. Do make a little loop at both ends to keep beads from sliding off... learned that the hard way once. If you make it flat against the surface of the end bead, it shouldn't show.

If the wire is hard to work with, grab a pair of needlenose pliers - they work wonders!

Good luck!

bekhad has the idea.....I've made these monograms tons of times...(for my kids to play with lol...never thought of using it on a cake)...and that's exactlly what they are...just beads from the craft store and wire...the heavier the gauge of the wire the more sturdy it will be.

This is Godiva's response: I inserted a piece of wire that went up through the N and stuck into the cake. I did this on the two straight sides of the N

I am guessing this means she stuck and additional support wire through the sides.
