Where can I find Liquid Glucose?

My cake decorating class is looking for liquid glucose. So far we have tried local grosery stores, and AC Moore where the class is held--NO LUCK! Any ideas where I can find it or is it something I will have to order online. I would prefer to find it local.

I found the glucose I use at Old Time Pottery in the cake decorating isle. It's made by Wilton and comes in a tub.

Try a wine making supply store. That's where I get mine from for my other hobby (wine making) . Likely much cheaper than Michaels or other like stores. icon_smile.gif

Liquid Glucose is a mixture of Glucose, Maltose and Maltodextrin and Oligosaccharides. It is a colorless, odorless, viscous sweet syrup, mainly used in confectionery and pharmaceuticals industry as a sweetener and bonding agent. It is a combination of mono, di, tri, penta and higher saccharides.

High Maltose Corn Syrup is a specially prepared acid-enzyme converted corn syrup which contains maltose as its major carbohydrate constituent. This high maltose syrup improves flavor, body, and texture at high sucrose replacement levels while imparting resistance to color formation, moisture absorption, and crystallization in finished products such as hard candies. It produces finished products which have exceptional stability, clarity, and brilliance.

Your welcome TC....if you read the ingredients list on some of your foods, you will find a glucose syrup of some sort that is used as a sweetener in the product. For example, my bottle of gatorade that I am looking at has glucose-fructose syrup in it.

Sorry I haven't been back. Hubby came home and needed the computer. BUMMER! I have developed a habit --reading all the post so I can learn more. You are all so helpful and knowledgeable!
Anyway I have a receipe for Moulding icing. It calls for 7ml liquid glucose
1 egg white
1 lb con. sugar
You can mold the cutest things! I really want to try it.
