i've had a request to make a Inukshuk as a grooms cake. they want it to be about 12" tall. any ideas how i might do this???

any ideas would be great thanks!!!

12" tall really wouldn't be alot of cake...is that what they want? I would probably build a stand using two larger dowels to use as center supports for the "legs" and then put a narrow board across the top to support the rest of the cake. However really, that's alot of work for only a 12" cake... the legs would take up about 6" of that, and that is only a few cupcakes worth of cake, and then you would have what, maybe the equivalent of a couple loaf pans on top?

Maybe I misunderstood though...

here's a sketch and some images.

for the sketch, I'd just start stacking one layer pieces of cake until got the rough shape and sports ball for hear, then dowel the heck out of it.

for the image of the beige one, I'd start w/ miniwonder molds for the little legs, then slabs and top w/ sports ball

the black image could easily be slabs of cake stood on edge and the white design fondant.

I learned something today! I had NO idea what an inukshuk was, so I googled it. Can't wait to see what you do with this!
