Hey Cake Masters! I have a cake due for a local celebrity and after coming up with a good idea, am not dure how to proceed! It needs to be an open book made out of fondant to sit on a large sheet cake. The book should be about notebook paper size, around 8.5x11 inches. How do I do this? Thanks in advance!!

Is the book just fondant or cake also?
If just fondant, cut a rectange of one coloured icing for the cover and lay down, then make a thick rectange of white icing and slice grooves into the sides to make pages and you can even roll out a long ribbon to drape over the top as a bookmark. Use an edible ink pen to write scribble or real words if you are good enough and mark 2 grooves down the middle to seperate the two top pages from each other.
Hope this helps.

or you can do the entire cake as a book see my photos. Easier. I personally think a large fondant book like that will be difficult to look realistic enough.Good luck
