Well, it's my first commissioned cake, and I must say I'm really glad I worked FAR ahead. Cake tiers in the freezer come out tomorrow, gumpaste bow drying now, and cake due Sat afternoon. BUT lady wanted an orange gift package stacked cake with bottom tier light blue and top tier light orange. Decided to do the fondant panel box top, to make it look more professional. But that light orange color is tricky! I had some leftover MMF, so thought I'd experiment. Accidently put yellow into it before I realized it wasn't the orange. Not too bad, I thought, it'll just change the shade of orange a bit. But once I got it all mixed in, rolled out and cut, the thing looked EXACTLY like a 9"x9" square of K**** singles american processed CHEESE! LMBO!!! Anyway, glad I am far enough out to still try again for the right shade. Think I might save this awful thing to make a "cheeseburger" cake for a cookout this summer. Think it'll last til then?

Sorry no digital camera, you'd all get a kick out of this.

Good news, redid it LATE last night and this morning the new one looks a respectable shade of light orange. Did the blue one too and it looks fine. Not sure yet what I think of the combination, but her choice...

Oh, hubby came home and said it really did look exactly like Ksingles. Had the same idea about the cheeseburger cake, so I guess someday it's just meant to be...
