DiscoLady was most gracious enough to share a very interesting recipe w/us. It's the Pink Champagne Cake. My question is can I use the cake extender recipe w/it. And would rasberry mousse go with it for a filling. thank you all very much for your expert advice... thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

the recipe calls for
1-box vanilla mix
2-envelopes of dream whip
4 egg whites
1 whole egg
1/4 cup veggie oil
1 1/2 cup flat champagne.

thanks

sounds yummy...........I'm imagining the raspberry mousse flavor with what I would envision this tasting like.......and I say it would be awesome....have you made this cake yet??? I wonder what the texture is...if it's really light like an angel food cake! I'm gonna have to jot down that recipe

no, I haven't DiscoLady says it's very yummy.. Maybe you could pm her and get explicit directions. She also says she puts the pink champagne in the bc frosting to replace the milk.... I'm going to make it tonight... wish me luck

Here's a suggestion
Original Cake Mix Extender:
1 egg
1 cup flour
500 ml (or 8 oz.) sour cream or yogurt (I prefer to use low fat yogurt)
1 cup white sugar
1/3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla or other suited flavouring

My Suggestion:
1-2 egg whites
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 envelope of dream whip
1 cup of white sugar
1/3 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
at least 1/2 cup more of flat champagne
and maybe another 1/8 of veggie oil
