I put it in my icing instead of vanilla - it is AWESOME! Tastes nasty out of the bottle, but makes the icing unbelievable!

My instructor says that he puts a tsp of creme bouquet and a tsp of vanilla in his cake mixes. He said it smelled like a bakery in a bottle, which I agree, and his customers aren't sure what exactly tastes like, but they know they like it. I haven't bought any yet, but I will on my next trip to the store so I can try it in icing and the cake.

I use creme bouque in my white cake mixes. It does an awesome job for wedding cakes. I can't tell you how many good coments I get about the taste of my cakes. People just can't figure out what's different, but they sure do love it. I just got a big wedding cake order yesterday because of that taste. A doctor ordered it saying she was at another wedding I'd done and the main thing she remember about the cake other than how pretty it was, was the taste. She said usually a wedding cake is beautiful, but always taste's nasty, and this was the first wedding cake she has ever been impressed with it's taste.

I also use it in my bc along with vanilla. It really does make a difference and is well worth the little extra. I'm sure you'll enjoy using it as much as I do. Give it a try, I'm positive you won't be sorry.

God Bless - Ellie

Ellie, how much Creme Bouquet do you put in your cake mixes? Wow, sounds like you got a wonderful compliment from Dr who wanted the wedding cake. I'd keep using it too.

When I first started using it, I was using 1 Tablespoon per cake mix. Never had any complaints at all. The only comments were always wonderful. But I had overheard my supplier telling another one of his customers while in his store shopping, to use 1 teaspoon per cake mix. I've only done one cake with 1 teaspoon since then and I still got wonderful comments, but now they are saying how they can taste lemon. I found that confusing because I would think if you used the tablespoon is when you would be able to taste more of the lemon flavor. Strange, huh? Anyway, I'm going back to using 1 Tablespoon in my mixes.

When it comes to bc, I only use 1 teaspoon in that since I'm also using vanilla AND butter flavoring. There again, it has a flavor much better than plain ole' bc.

Hope this works for you! God Bless - Ellie

Alrighty, one tablespoon in the cake mix it is. That is interesting that someone did comment on the lemon flavor when you used only 1 tsp and no one else had when you used 1 tablespoon. Hmmmmmmm, maybe she just has a real keen sense of taste. It really would have been interesting to see what she would have said if she also tasted the cake with 1 tablespoon in it. Anyway, thanks so much. I'm definitely going to try it out next time round.

Is Creme Bouquet a combination of vanilla, almond, lemon and orange? If so, can we make up our own using equal amounts of each one?

I'm not sure what it would be a combination of. I wouldn't know how to mix my own. No, you can't buy it in a grocery store. I get it from my supplier. I'm not sure where he orders it from, but he buys it by the gallon and sells 3 oz bottles of it for $2.69. However, as a regular good spending customer, he sells it to me for .60 an oz. and all I have to do is supply my own bottle. He does ship, if you would like I can send you his website and you can email him. God Bless - Ellie
