How Do I Keep My Decorating Tips Shiny?
Decorating By Darra Updated 13 Apr 2006 , 4:58pm by KHalstead
i wash all my tips/flower nails by hand in warm, soapy water but i notice that they look kind of dull now compared to when i first purchased them. does anyone have any *tips* on how to keep them nice and shiny?
thanks!
I'd like to know the answer to this question too, I've only been decorating for about 3 months now and some of my tips (mine are Wilton) kind of dull. Would soaking in vinegar help?
no, i heard vinegar is what makes them dull. sorry no answer on how to keep them shiney.
I'd like to know this too. Some of mine retain their shininess and some don't. They are all Wilton. Please share!
We talked about this is my Wilton classes. No one had the answers, but through our talking we discovered that everyone in the class on "well water" had dull tips and everyone on "city water" had shiny tips. I don't know if this is the case generally, but in our class of 12 it was 100% correct.
beez - ahh! that must be it... we have extremely hard water here where i am so i'm guessing that's why my tips have dulled i'll try inkyonne's suggestion and use stainless steel cleaner thanks!
I have well water and haven't had many issues with the tips dulling.....but we do have a water softener and a whole purification system attatched to it...so maybe that's why!
