Luster Dust & Freezing ???

I am making cookies in advance for an event on May 21st. I was planning on baking the No Fail Sugar Cookies and decorating them with Antonia"s Icing, then freeze them. My question is this.. Can I paint the Luster dust on and let it dry then freeze them or should I wait to do the luster dust after I thaw them out completely for the event. I will be outlining with Blue icing, Filling with white icing, then painting the white with silver lusterdust mixed with clear vanilla.

i've never frozen cookies, but others say it is possible and works well.

As for lustre dust, hmmmmm......might be pushing your luck with that idea. I wouldn't risk that I don't think. thumbsdown.gif

Thanks, Antonia74, I was getting down to leaving the Luster dust off until needed. I just was not sure, so I would rather be safe than sorry.

Would it work for you to make the dough, roll it into your shapes, and freeze unbaked? That way you would just have to bake and ice them closer to the event. Making the dough and rolling them out is half the job, I think.

And they will taste very fresh, they will not taste like they have been frozen this way.

I bake them frozen and that way they don't spread.
