...that'd be me and the cookies! I give up! Dad asked for some cookies and I thought it would be good practice. The only ones that came out half way decent were my St. Paddy's and I didn't get a photo of those. These buggers have to be the right consistency or you are toast. The ones I did now are so juvenile looking and I have saved cookie photos in my file that are so delicate and pretty, I don't think I am going to get there at this rate. I will take photos of the ones that came out okay (tomorrow) and I need critiquing!!

Man I know how you feel. A breather might be a good thing for you. It will all be ok. We all have our moments, (unless somehow you are not human) You do great work. Keep your chin up

Sometimes I feel, the harder I try, the worse I get. The more I concentrate on the icing recipe, the more crystallizing, air bubbles, you-name-it, I get. What's really frustrating is the cookie posts in the gallery from first-timers and they are impeccable! How do they do that?

I think I am going on a Cookie Strike.

I'm right with you Zamode. Where do we picket? I think I'll whip up some royal icing (with air bubbles) and start making signs. They should be dry and durable in no time!!

I wondered too where the cookie strike began!! I need to read more posts.

I decorated my first cookies for cookie bouquets this morning, actually my first time decorating cookies, and I feel the same way. I thought I made my icing thick enough, but no way. They ran down the sides of some of the cookies and I didn't have enough time to let the 'dam' harden before I 'flooded' so I had a little bit of a difficult time. Talk about
juvenile-looking cookies. Maybe I can get by with calling them 'whimsical' flowers!


Zamode, we need to just keep trying. I'm determined to have beautiful cookies like I have saved too!! When I read your post I swear you took the words right out of my mouth!!

Oh yeah! Cookies are so hard! I tried once by myself and said "WHAT, NO WAY I'M GONNA DO THIS AGAIN!" Then I decided to make them with my granddaughter and when they look funny, I say "Alexis made them" then everyone is like "oh, how cute!" Am I a bad Nana or what? But my DGD has tons of fun!
