i'm suddenly concerned about which paintbrushes i should use for painting mmf, marzipan, or royal icing. can i just use any old brush from the craft store? i've been using a set of regular fine hair brush that i bought just for the purpose of painting on food but now that i think about it, is that even sanitary?

i've always been inlove with the idea of painting on cakes especially after seeing the wonderful stuff they have over at this site:

i don't have the talent for it, but i'd sure like to try!

what brushes do you use? fine hair or synthetic? which brushes are more sanitary?

I paint my cakes and MMF sculptures with paintbrushes all the time and havent had a problem. I think as long as you use the brush exclusively with food, it shouldny be a problem. Wilton sells brushes, and I think they are made of a synthetic material, so Im assuming its safe!! I do have to say, invest in some quality, meaning expensive brushes, better in the long run! Oh, and Jolly Be, Amazing Stuff!!!!!!
