Hey all,
Is there a faster way of drying fondant other than letting it sit (air dry)?
thx
Under a heat lamp, (not too close or the fondant will melt) a light. Some people turn the oven on to 200F, turn it off, put the fondant item inside with the oven door open. A hair blower on cool setting. A fan directed on it.

Great question! I am trying to dry some handles for a basket for Easter and remembered in the middle of the night that I didn't use any gumtex. So I tore them apart, smooshed them back together and stuck them in a zip lock bag until I get home tonight. Another day gone! My only problem with using a lamp is the last time I did that I ruined my fondant roses for my class 3 by letting them sit on my desk at work by a lamp. The next day I came in and the roses (lavender) were faded on one side to an ugly gray. Maybe I will try the oven trick. Thanks!

It is a real problem with any of the purples, even regular exposure to flourescent lighting or daylight, will change the colour quickly. Some pinks will fade fast too, and black can get pretty ugly.
