The gallery isn't working for me right now or I'd do a search on that first. icon_sad.gif

My brother has asked me to do a drum set cake for my nephew's 1st birthday in May. I'm trying to get a head start on planning as I have 4+ cakes to do between now and then!

I have a few ideas, but I'm sure some of you all have done things like this and would love to hear your great ideas and input! icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks in advance!!!

I know you were having problems with the gallery, but I have one in my photos. I can't get it to upload, but I can e-mail it to you if you'd like.
It was my WEDDING cake! icon_smile.gif My husband I and I both play drums, so nothing else would do! It was awesome if I do say so myself icon_wink.gif

I am actually debating that same question right now. My husband wants a drum set cake for his birthday. I was thinking of making the big bass drum(i think that is what it's called) a dummy cake or a really dense cake so it'll stand on it's side. Then the other drums with varying size round pans on either a very thick cake board supported by pvc pipe or wood cut to the shape of the cake and it supported by pvc pipe. The cymbals I'm going to make out of fondant. I really hope the gallery starts working for you because there are a couple awesome pics on there. Hope this helps.

I have one in my photos.... I'll try to load it here. My boss and I did this as a joint effort at work a few months ago.

This is the night before...the next day he added some logos on the cymbals and a few other things. You also can't see we have a black seat in the back and some drumsticks as well.
