Hi Guys,

Can the chocolate syrup frosting be smoothed out like the buttercream frosting can?

I'm giving you a bump. I'd like to know too since I'm doing it for the first time this weekend!

I had no problem smoothing it out like buttercream. I add just a little extra milk and it worked perfect. HTH

I made this frosting yesterday for the first time. I loved it. No problems smoothing it and it tastes great. I don't really care for the taste of chocolate buttercream. I'll be making this frosting alot.

Here it is...

I can't wait to try it because I usually don't like regular chocolate buttercream. Hopefully I'll like this one better.

Keep in mind that this frosting doesn't crust over like the regular buttercream. I absolutely love the flavor of this frosting!

No, it doesn't crust. If I'm having problems smootihng, I juts pop in in the fridge for a while, and usually have no problems smoothing after I take it out.
