Ok, right now, I'm doing a ccc. I've seen some where people actually have them in the shape of a square or a sheet cake size~and the whole thing looks like the square. The borders are straight!

How do you people know how to do this? Do you make mini cupcakes and just fill in or ......what?!?!?!?!

I hope you can understand what I'm tryinig to explain...it's kinda hard to describe.

I have only made 1 CCC and my CCC was made 4 by 3 into a square. When I iced it I used crusting buttercream that I piped over my cupcakes. I used a shirt box and butted it up against my cupcakes when frosting so that I would get straight edges. I hope this makes sense icon_confused.gif Not sure how the professionals here do it, but it worked for me. Good luck thumbs_up.gif

I cheat for cupcake cakes. Theres a store near me wher I can buy 24 cupcakes for 99p. I just trim the tops level and they're baked in square cases so I don't get any gaps when I stack them together

MMDD I'm in the same boat as you are. icon_cry.gif If you check out my pics I just did one for my son and it's horrible icon_redface.gif . I forgot the choc raises higher than vanilla so one side is higher than the other. When I frosted the top I must not have had them close enough. When Geoff brought the pan home there were globs of frosting in the bottom of the pan. I squished them together as much as I could. I also put them in my 9x11 pan to hold the square shape. Maybe after baking them you could level them off to be the same height??? I read somewhere that people put frosting on the bottom of the cc to hold them in place. Maybe if you do that and squish them into a shirt box like cookieclaire suggested that should work. I also thought after I should have used my big cake tip to put the first layer on??? NOt sure .. I'm so sorry I couldn't be more help. If you some good tips, feel free to share. I'm sure whatever you make will look AWESOME thumbs_up.gif Be sure to post a pic... icon_smile.gif

Here's Cali4dawn's cupcake cake tutorial link if you haven't seen it before:

http://community.webshots.com/album/105830324epGFhn

and here's a link for a square muffin pan that I really like using:

http://shop.bakerscatalogue.com/items/Square_Muffin_Pan.html

Square Muffin Pan $29.95 Item# 5362

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bakes 12 square muffins (or coffeecakes, or biscuits)

Round muffin papers will fit it just fine

Measures 15 3/4 x 11 x 1 1/2 inches overall

Each cup measures 2 5/8 inches square

Made of aluminized steel by Chicago Metallic

(The standard cc papers don't come to the top of the pan, but they do work.)
