What's your favorite mixer?

Of course there's the $250 Kitchen Aide that comes in all the prettycolors, then there's the smaller, cheaper version of this. And I've seen other brands that are much cheaper. What does everyone like the best? The expensive Kitchen Aide that I've seen only has one big beater & you attach the bowl to the stand so it doesn't spin around. I remember using my Grandmothers mixer years & years ago & it had the top that tipped back to put the beaters in and the bowl would spin around. Just curious what everyone uses & what they like icon_smile.gif

I love my KitchenAid with it's 575 watts, 6 Qt bowl, the dough hook , wire whip, pouring shield and regular beater that came with it. I waited for my 50% off one item at that "bath and beyond" place and hit it big with my mixer.... cost me $179.49 sooo... happy! Good deals can be found at the most unusual places. icon_biggrin.gif i wanted a stand mixer, but didnt have alot of money, so i got the GE stand mixer at walmarts...it was about $100.00 and i LOOOVE IT!
plus you can put it on layaway. the only thing that i dont like is that i havent found any attachments that fit it. i bought the kitchenaide attachment that acts as a lid so my powder sugar doesnt fly out every where and it doesnt fit exactly right. but since it's all the money i had at the time, i really have gotten alot of use out of it, and use it several times a week. thats the one kitchen gadget that i couldnt live with out!

At the moment my mixer is broken & I keep saying to myself I must get one of those Kitchen Aid Mixers but after reading these posts I think I will look into other options especially since It's so pricey. Afer hearing so many testimonials about the Kitchen Aid for some strange reason I was thinking the other brands won't work as good but If I can save some money then I might as well go that way.

I bought my KA stand mixer a few years ago. I'd had a Hamilton Beech one for years before that, and it worked good till I wore it out. I love the heavier KA because it won't dance around on the counter like my other one did. I can get this one going and walk away and not worry. I'd like to get another bowl one day too. With a KA you don't need to turn the bowl because the paddle etc gets everything in to bowl. When I wear this out I'll get another. I do need to get another hand mixer. I won't mention names but someone's dh shut the beaters in a drawer and bent one. I bent it back out but it's not the same. Can you hear the clang from there? UGH!

I LOVE my Kitchen Aid. Dh got it for me for Christmas last year after I killed my first one (after only 15 years of heavy use! lol!)

It's the big boy---575 watts, 6 qt bowl, all the "toys" I need!

DH was so funny--he was terrified to buy it for me as a gift because he doesn't like getting anything that could be construed as an appliance for me for gifts. I absolutely LOVE it and it's one of my most favorite gifts of all time!

I love turning it up to 10--it sounds like a jet engine! LOL!

I love my KitchenAid....DH bought it for me for Christmas as well and had the same concerns about buying an "appliance" as a gift.....turns out it too was the best gift I received. I used it almost on a daily basis and wouldn't trade it for the world. I do use a small electric hand mixer from time to time, but when it comes to icing, KA is the only way to go!

I wouldn't take anything for my KitchenAid ... I went through about 3 mixers before I invested in my KitchenAid.. I wouldn't have any other kind now .. I love it icon_smile.gif

melodyscakes, I was wondering if anyone liked one of the cheaper ones. I saw one in an ad for around $100 and I don't remember what brand it was. I told my dh that mom needs a new mixer so we'll see icon_smile.gif
thanks for all the replies!

There are some Wolfgang Puck ones on Ebay that look really nice. Anyone have any experience with this brand?

My friend Boo-Boo (she's a member on here too) just bought a Wolfgang. She loves it! I haven't seen it yet because we live so far from each other. She says it works great! It's larger then my KA. Send her a PM & ask her to tell you about it. Her computer was broke but might be working again.
