Does my butter HAVE to be at room temp? Also how do I keep the cookies from going hard when they are laying out to dry after using Antonia's icing? Thanks~Melissa

It should be at room temperature. I have been known to start creaming my butter before room temperature when I am in a hurry.
Your cookies should not be getting hard. Are you overbaking them?
I think the butter was still a little to cold because the dough feels really soft. I'm not sure. I just don't want it to taste like flour like my last two batches. I guess I will let it sit in the fridge over night and start baking early in the morning. Oh yeah, If I want to put sticks in them but I don't need them until the 23rd should I just bake with the sticks in them? Is this understandable? Thanks~Melissa
If you roll out your dough between two pieces of parchment paper you won't be adding any flower to the dough from your work surface. I just started doing this and it has helped ALOT!!!
What is NFSC? There are so many different abbreviations for everything on here I get confused. ha ha
