Does anyone have a great strawberry cake recipe. I have been using the cake dr recipe but I find that it is a tad too sweet and too red! Thanks so much!

Here's one from the recipe section:

I have a recipe, similar to the cake doctor's it turns out pink, not red. I don't know what the difference is between mine and the one in the cake doctor book, but I've gotten nothing but rave reviews. If you would like it too, let me know.

I prepare a yellow cake mix as directed but reduce the water by a half cup and add a cup of pureed strawberries (fresh or frozen is okay). Bake as usual. This cake is sooooooo moist and delicious and not overly sweet at all and I don't have to add a lot of extra ingredients with this cake either.
good luck!

1 box white cake mix
4 eggs
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 pkg (3 oz) strawberry gelatin (dissolved in 1/2 cup boiling water)
1 cup frozen strawberries, thawed (do not drain)
3/4 cup thawed strawberries for the frosting.

Pour cake mix in mixing bowl, mix in 1 cup thawed strawberries (including juice). Add eggs, blend. Add vegetable oil, blend. Beat until well creamed.
This will make 1 bundt cake or 2-layer 9 inch cake.
Bake at 350 degres 30 -35 minutes for layer cake, approximately 55 minutes for bundt

Note: Taste great with cream cheese frosting with strawberries folded in.

Be careful with the recipe with gelatin. It does not work in big cakes. I made a 9x13 and it worked great but when I made it in a 16" square it fell 2xs. I finally just went and bought the DH strawberry cake mix. I had already put so much money and effort into the other one.
