icon_cool.gif Uhh,,I have a odd question I guess....When you are setting up the wedding cake along with the either candles, or extra flower petals or what the case may be,,do you have to set up with napkins, forks, plates or is that area up to the bride to make sure those items are there...???

Also, this bride I am doing here cake for her, she couldn't make up her mind about putting some "red" tulle around the white round table cloth. Her colors are red and the table was just going to be a plain ol' white.
Should I buy some tulle just to be on the safe side, or just go with getting the cake there, setting it up, putting the flowers on and set the candles there??

Unless the bride and you have made an agreement, the bride takes care of this. The person doing her catering is usually the one who would take of this.

Try to get a definete answer out of her because if you put the tulle on there for her, what if you want the tulle back, but don't get it back? Are you charging them a refundable deposit fee for the items that have to be returned? (if the items get returned, they get their deposit back, and if they don't return the items, they don't get their money back.)
If you can I would try to do a mock set up for her with the tulle and then what it would look like without the tulle, and have her make a choice.
Hope this helps!

icon_cool.gif Yes, this does help..And I even asked her like 3 times during our first meeting to pin down a answer from her..This bride is making me go bald....
I did charge her for a deposit and explained about if I don't get my items back, she doesn't get here deposit back.

I have been thinking of doing a mock set up for her too..Even with the foam dummy cake etc..So that way, hopefully she can make her mind up here soon...

Thanks for the tips......appreciate it much...... thumbs_up.gif

Your welcome...it might come down to.."if you won't make your mind, I will make it up for you and I don't want to hear any complaints from you." but probably something more tactful then what I said icon_wink.gif

When I do a wedding cake I have two different prices... a catered price and "just cake" price. The catered price is a per serving price but they get the cake, punch in glass punch bowl, homemade mints, mixed nuts, coffee served in a silver service, colored tablecloth with lace overlay, forks, plates and cups. This way I know everything will be there, most of the brides I've talked to love this because it's one less thing they have to worry about. icon_smile.gif
