I was wondering if anyone had ever used Butavan flavor emulsion? It is supposed to be a buttery vanilla? Would like to purchase, but thought I would get some opinions 1st! Thanks so much!

Yes, Earlene had stopped selling it for a while but I do believe that it is now available from her. I wouldn't stake my life on it but I do believe that she is selling it again.

Love it! I've only used in my white and yellow cakes but as the previous posters said, it give them a rich, depth of flavor.

Butavan is THE BEST flavoring in my opinion. I have used it for years and tried many other flavorings but none keep calling me back quite like Butavan does. The Creme Bouquet is excellent too and is equally good in flavor, with a mild citrus vanilla tone. Both are awesome!

YES! YES! YES! I was so excited to see it available on Sugarcraft again. Seems the company who originally made Butavan was purchased and the new owners were not going to continue making it. I don't know if the new company is making it now, but WHO CARES???

For those of you who think the NFSC recipe is a bit on the blah side, try Butavan instead of vanilla. The cookies will dance in your mouth!

YES! It's wonderful! I usually use the Creme Royal flavoring from Sugarcraft as my icing flavoring, howevever, once ran out of it and only had the Butavan....so thought I'd try it! It was WONDERFUL! I also use the Butavan in my yellow, french vanilla and white cake mixes!

Well, I would like to try the Creme bouquet too......by CK products. I have heard many good things about it and the "Princess" flavoring.

Depending on the size of cake mix you would add 2 or 3 tsps of the butavan, more if you like. The Creme Bouquet is a bit stronger flavoring so you may want to add 1 or 2 tsps of it and go from there.

We have something at work that is similar to butavan. It comes in a powdered form and you add it with the dry ingredients. It is called van 16-1. The only name I saw on the box was Bakers' Best.
We put it in our raised donuts.

Hmmmm, that is interesting! I'll do a search on it and see what I can find. Thanks!

Yes you can and should. Once you use the Butavan you will probably never put vanilla in a cake again. It is simply wonderful stuff!
