I'v seen a couple requests on her about tulips... I had this article on how to make easy tulips using marshmallow dough...They were using marshmallow fondant back in 2001!! Here's a picture of the different steps. I didn't know how to get the entire article so you guys could read it. The steps look fairly easy to follow.
Enjoy!!
Wonder if Marshmallow Dough is just another name for Marshmallow Fondant?
Very cool tulips! Thanks for sharing.
googled it, it is but it uses marshmallow fluff so you don't need to melt the marshmallows
And I was just wondering this morning how I could make tulips without doing the gumpaste ones for an Easter cake. Thanks so much!
Thanks for the directions and picture. I am still learning and now I have a reason to make some of the marshmellow fondant. Now I can learn two techniques at once on a cake I have to make this weekend.
Thank you, I was just thinking about how pretty tulips would be on a cake.
Sorry for being a little dumb , but I'm not quite following the "easy" photos. What is "E"? Is that one petal scored for some reason or is it supposed to mean it is cut in half and both halves are used?
I understand that the one petal wraps over the ball, but then how many other petals does it have? Sorry .
I think thats supposed to be the vein that runs down the side....I don't really know. Hmmmm and how did they attach the stem????
The line in step E is the vein that runs up the middle of each petal. Most tulips have six petals, so these would too, I assume.
This is great! Thanks for posting!
Oh, how cute is that. I never thought of doing a tulip that way.
Thanks for posting! I am going to try them this weekend.
I love tulips, there actually one of my favorites.
Maybe you could tell us where you found the article and we could look it up for the instructions
ok this is probably due to the fact that I slept 7 hours but feel like I slept 4 (dont you hate that feeling lol) but maybe I'm missing a photo?
I have been known to write instructions before (professionally) and those dont seem clear to me at all- as a totally green cake decorator lol. Maybe those are for advanced people- most of you seem to get them so I guess so )
Can I clarify a few things? I saw someone post that tulips have 6 petals. My interpretation of the picture was that you make a ball, flatten it, point the top, scour the middle to make the vein. Do this 6 times.
Ok and is there a picture missing? Like as in how to wrap them around? So I'm guessing this is for advanced flower makers, because you all probably know the process for that )
(I think I'll go with my original Easter cake idea and forget about trying tulips LOL)
Thanks for posting that though. One day it will come in handy when I know what I'm doing
This is what I found when I did an internet search
