I'm new here. My English isn't very good, so please excuse my mistakes. Can anybody give me a batter recipe for a stand-up bear without any cake mix - I live in Israel and didn't see any cake mix used in Wilton recipies here. Thanks

Your best choice is going to be to use a Pound Cake Recipe.... They are stronger for 3D Bears... If you need a recipe for this let me know and I will help you out there... The other thing and I have never done it but I would think that a fruit cake would do well also... I know in the countries fruit cake is used a lot for cakes ...

I did the stand up bear in the spring for a baby shower. I used the Wilton #233 tip to make chocolate fur. It was fun and worked great! Have fun with the bear.

icon_wink.gif Oh my gosh, I am like that too. Your mother-in-law is not strange, I even make up voices for the critter types of cakes. Yes, I know that is strange - but then, I am Squirrelly, haha!

I went to the links you gave me & in the 3d recipe I didn't understand ab.milk. I don't see any milk in the ingredients, but then you write "Add alternating with 1 Cup milk" ????

I will have to see if I can find the user Dawn's Recipe again and see why that is missing.... I am sorry I hope you added the milk to your recipe..
