Does anyone know how to do the roses from Kraft colored marshmallows? How do the petals attach to each other?
Thanks,
Susie

I was curious myself, so I just tried to make some. You're right that the powdery outside makes them not sticky; so I broke each in half which made one side sticky and one side powdery. I put the sticky side to the inside. It stuck; but I still wasn't happy with the overall rose. Although I flattened them with my fingers, the poof returned.

I love the idea,
I did a search on google, here is what I came up with.

I am guessing that is not what you meant. I wonder if you sut the marshmallow with a very sharp knife to get the petals you wanted it that would work?? Like you do to a radish? A friend of mine sent me a some pictures of cut up watermelon and eggs this morning and they are just beautiful, that's what made me think of it.
I might go an try it out.

Good Luck.

Maybe that's what you do! I hope somebody answers who has made them before.

Thanks for the replies. I think I figured it out. I squeezed one marshmallow into a cone shape and stuck it on a toothpick. For petals, I rolled the mini marshmallows out thinly on powdered sugar. I had to roll it out on both sides. To make the thinned marshmallow petals stick to the cone, I brushed a little water on the petal and it stuck to the base. Thanks again.

I had seen marshmallow flowers on on the covers of some old womans magazines years ago. I would have sworn that they had been roses. I even called Kraft and talked to one of their reps. The one that they sent me was to cut a large marshmallow in half on the diagonal. Then dip the cut side in colored sugar. They used 4-5 1/2 marshmallow petals and then cut the mini marshmallows in slices and dipped them in colord sugar also for the center of the flower. There was also one on an old magazine that was daisies. Cut the sm marshmallows in half and slightly flatten. Use 5 in a circle and add one for the center. But I'm teaching a class just on roses and wanted to do roses from marshmallows. So I had to keep trying to make a rose. I did have to flatten the marshmallows with a rolling pin. I don't know how to post a picture but if I figure that out I will try after class.
Thanks,
