I am in Ohio, and have searched everywhere for info on a license in this state to sell cakes from home. I've looked on the Dept of Taxation and Dept of Agriculture sites for Ohio, and can't find anything. What types of license do I need? Vendor? Any ideasd on where to look or what to search for as what types of licensing I'll need? I have a tea party that I'm catering after Easter, and would like to hand out business cards because it's at a fancy pants private school, but I'm nervous about leaving cards if I'm not licensed. Can snyone here steer me in the right direction?
Here's a link to a post from a while back about the rules for Ohio. It looks fairly simple, I think we're very lucky compared to the stories posted here about some other states!

Yeah! Then we just need a vendors license right? I hope I'm reading this properly. Do you know how long it takes to get thru the process?
I haven't gotten around to doing anything about it yet - have just gotten my first couple of orders which will be cash from friends, and I'm not ready to advertise yet because I'm finishing up a couple of major home improvement projects, so don't have too much time to devote to it at this point.
There are quite a few people on here from Ohio, and I would think you'll get more answers in a day or so. You could always PM some of the people who posted on that thread if it sounds like they're "in business" already!
Good luck, please post what you find out!
Laura.
