Daisy Question

i want to do daisies on a shower cake for my sis. i read the wilton directions...is there any reason that i can't do them in buttercreme or creme cheese icing right on the cake??

anybody done this?

I don't see a reason why you couldn't do them right on the cake! They aren't very easy to me, so I have to them separate and then pick and choose the better ones. But if you are good at them, then go for it!

If you think you can pull it off making them directly on the cake go for it. It does involve rotating the flower so you are working from different angles. But if you can manage that then do it.

What if you do the rolled BC and used the fondant cut out for daisies. Best of both worlds and fast, too.

You'll probably just need to use a stiffer consistency buttercream, like what, maybe a medium at least? And it seems like you could just turn your turntable as you would a flower nail as you go or as you need to for them. I've only made the royal icings ones, haven't tried making them with buttercream directly on the cake but that's because I don't trust myself to not mess up icon_cry.gif LOL

I would make them on a flower nail, freeze, and then pop on the cake.
