Does anyone have any of his books? He's coming to Oz for a cake dec seminar and he's demming a "Brazzilian beauty" and I don't have a clue what that is.
He is English and written "Garden flowers in Sugar" and also worked with Alan Dunn and Tombi Peck.
If anyone has seen him dem or knows what a Brazzilian Beauty is I would love to know.
Thanks

Hey redred, this seminar is run by the Cake Dec Guild and is on 18-20th May at Orange. It is held every 2nd year at various venues. The weekend involves Branch (Guild) displays, individual displays-all to a theme. This years is "Yesterday,Today & Tomorrow". There are dems, hands on workshops, shops (cake decorating, of course) and you get to see people who are well known in decorating circles as well as a special guest usually from OS.
Oh and the food is excellent thumbs_up.gif and we have heaps of fun. party.gifparty.gif
The Cake Dec Guild meets every 2nd month and there are dems and learning in general. If you want to know more let me know.
Oh by the way congratulations I heard you won a 1st at the Royal thumbs_up.gif is the cake in your pics?

playingwith sugar, I'm pretty sure it would be a flower, can you tell me what sort it is? When I Google Brazzilian Beauty it's definitely not flowers that come up icon_redface.gif

Thanks for the info Sparklepop. It sounds like a fun weekend - great food, country air, talking about cakes and sugarcraft - what more could anyone want!! I know someone who goes to the Concord meetings, is that where you go?

I have just uploaded my easter show cake to my pics. I went to the show yesterday and had a great time, spent ages looking and taking pics of the cakes, amazing!

It is a great weekend redred, the only downfall being when you come home you're completely exhausted and braindead, thank God for notes LOL, which they supply by the way.
One more good thing is this seminar is at a winery!!! Cheers party.gif

I'm in Golden West Br which meets at Quakers Hill in Western Suburbs. Sydney Br (Concord) has got some great decorators (but so have we icon_lol.gif ) It would be well worth a look.

Your cake is beautiful, definitely worthy of 1st, so much thought obviously went into it. It must have taken ages to work out a design and then do it.
Well done.

Thanks jules06 I just checked your photos and I love your native wildflowers. I haven't done too many of those your are very realistic.

My daughter just came back from the Royal Easter Show I asked her to take photos of all the cakes she liked and redred she had a photo of yours. So obviously it appeals to the younger generation too.
