Hi there,

Can I just spread on cherry pie filling in between my layers for a quick and easy filling, or would that not taste good?

thanks!

It would be great I would think...just make sure you make a dam out of icing maybe a 1/4 of an inch from the outside rim of the cake and then fill the inside with the pie filling...some people actually like to cut out the cake from the center....maybe a 1/2 inch deep or so...actually making a well in the cake itself..then fill with the filling....this way the filling won't ooze out the sides when you layer the cake and push down.

Made a cake last weekend for my granddaughter and daughter...they loved it!

I made a chocolate heart shaped cake at Valentine's and used the cherry filling. Everyone loved it but what I didn't love was the bulge in between the three tier cakes. Be sure to pipe a dam (which I did) but careful not to overfill (which I also did!)... best of luck, I'm sure it will taste great!
