Well, I could actually build one and use this royal icing as the concrete grout!!! icon_biggrin.gif Is royal supposed to be that thick?? I used the wilton recipe in the book but boys oh boys....this stuff is like glue!! It's a good thing it lasts 2 wks on the counter, it may take me that long to pipe it out of a bag!!!
Can someone tell me what the "right" consitency should be? I am guessing I just add a tad of water till I get it right?? My poor little hand mixer isn't very happy with me right now icon_sad.gif
Any advice is much appreciated icon_smile.gif

yes, just add some water...maybe a teaspoon at a time until you get the consistency you're looking for. The consistency of royal icing depends on what you plan to do with it....if you're making roses, you obviously want it to be like a thick buttercream...if you're piping an outline...you want a medium buttercream consistency...if you're filling in areas you want it thinnner....maybe like a pancake batter...all depends on what you're doing with it.
