I hope to get my cake business picking up in the near future, but I was wondering what regular people do when they have the business at home as far as ovens? Is there a place to buy ovens with more baking capacity? I haven't seen much at our local Sears, which is about all we have around here. What's a reasonable appliance to invest in for a home business??

I would invest in a table top oven from Deluxe Ovens. I know I have posted this before...but he has a great oven (convect a ray) that will work anywhere and is priced at $2500.00 or you could do like me (for now) I use my Maytag home oven for cakes. I will be starting up with my cake business (certified kitchen) here in a week or so.

Hope this helps!!!

The CR 1/2-4 is 32 1/4"H X 30 1/4"W X 24 1/4"D. It will bake 4 13 X18 (true 1/2 sheet) pans at one time.

I would call Russ at DeLuxe Ovens....He is really nice and has so much knowledge about them...there is another one that is wider that will bake 4 Full sheets at one time...

The web address is....www.deluxeovens.com

the area you would be looking for is counter top ovens half pan or counter top ovens full sheet. The ovens designed for cakes are the "Convect a Ray"

Hope this helps!!!

I have a Frigidaire convection oven....we bought it at Sears about 10 years ago.....it has a ceramic cook top and it is big enough to accomodate a 16" round pan or a 12x 18 sheet cake pan...you have to make sure that it will do that....the first one I got said that it would but when we had it delivered and installed and I went to bake a 16" round....it would not fit...they did not account for the space that the fan took up inside....so we ended up spending another 250.00 to get one that would. I can bake 4 9x13 cakes at one time...or 2 12x18's ...I can do a whole wedding cake at one time....12, 10 and 8.....just stagger them around on the the rack....each rack can hold one whole layer...it is AWESOME!!! Can't even imagine trying to do this with a regular oven anymore.
