What is the QUICKEST way to get my fondant to dry and harden??? I'm using Wilton fondant (I know....YUCK..but it won't be eaten with the cake). I'm adding Gum-Tex to firm it up but it needs to hold it's shape by this evening....I have like only 6 hrs!!! Do you think having a fan blowing on it for several hours will help it harden????? Thanks!!

I'd be afraid of the fan drying it too fast and causing cracking????? I'd think with the gumtex added, you should be fine in a few hours. I wouldn't worry about it.

WHEW! Thank you! I'm in Georgia and it's getting hot and humid today so I'm keeping my doors and windows closed so the humidity doesn't get in!!! I just broke down and turn the airconditioner on because it's up to 82 degrees in here!!!! HOT!!

Thanks for your reply. I feel more at ease about my shapes holding. If all works well, I'll be posting this cake later tonight! Wish me luck!!!!

Wow! I can't believe you're that hot already! I'd sure run the AC for the sake of the fondant! Good luck!

Thanks Phoov. It's cooling off now. The fondant is doing well. The Gum-Tex really helps too!

Yes, in GA we only have 2 seasons.....Winter and Summer!!! LOL icon_lol.gif

Just a note, I am in Australia and we have had a lot of really humid heat and I put the airconditioner on and found that it dries my fondant out really quickly without doing any damage whatsoever. So not only does it help the cake not to sag etc when covered, but it does speed up drying!
