How Do I Cover An Oval Cake Base With Decorative Foil!!!

I have been trying to cover an oval shaped piece of styrofoam for my oval shaped caked and the foil looks really bad........no smooth edges! HELP!!!!

Cut your foil larger than the board. Place board in center (I use a dab of glue from a glue stick in the center of the board before I place it on the foil to keep it from slipping) Make slits around the edge, but not all the way to the board. One at a time, fold up onto the board and adhere with glue or tape. This technique helps ease the foil around the edge avoiding the wrinkles and bulges.
