I have not yet worked with Gum Paste. but when I took Course 3 we added Gum Text to Fondant to make the roses! Is that the same thing??
I would like to try my hand at doing figures and want to know if I can make them this way or if I have to use Gum Paste.
Thanks
Jackie

I know you can buy the gum paste itself that you mix with water. I've never used it though. Anytime I need to make something I want to harden, I use Gum-Tex added to my fondant and it works just fine.

I JUST got some Gum-Tex today to add to fondant! This'll be my first time doing it this way too....read it in a Wilton book. Says it make's the fondant "firmer" for molding. I hope so! I'm attempting a mini wedding dress out of it! Wish me luck!

You can use the fondant with the gum text added. It makes the fondant more pliable and also makes it dry hard.
