I'm in a rush tonight to finish a cake. Just came out of the oven..I'm very tired. What would happen if I put it in the fridge or freezer to speed up the cooling process? I need to get going on the icing.
thanks
Pam

It souldnt really do anything to your cake, but it will lower the temperature in your freezer or fridge, therefore putting your other items in danger of spoilage. But if it's only a small cake it shouldnt take too long and the fridge/freezer will return to normal temperature quickly

I do it all the time. I have an extra fridge for stuff like this. The cake is always the same. Yummy!!
