you can get colored chinese take out containers at party stores, you can use coffee mugs, you can even use gift bags with something in the bottom to weigh them down (small bag of sand, pebbles, etc.) with some tissue paper.......practically anything you can think of.

I personally like to use containers that the cookie bouquet recipient can put to use after they have consumed the cookies.

I use clay pots, coffee mugs, vases, baskets etc

I plan on using a metal basket shaped like a shopping cart that I found at Target. My friend is an avid shopper and I thought it would make a great gift for her birthday. I will make the cookies to go with the shopping theme. (example: 1 will be a visa card).

I have made a few cookie bouquets in the past, but have always used clay pots.

Price, that is just a great idea, I bet she loves those cookies! Can't wait to see one that looks like a credit card! And the little shopping cart will be adorable for that thumbs_up.gif

Thanks cakesbgood. I think it should be fun to make. Haven't decided what the other cookies will be. Maybe a dress for one. I'll have to look around and see what cookie cutters I can find that will fit in.

I forgot to mention, my daughter recently received a cookie bouquet. It was in a plastic container specifically made for cookie bouquets. It had special holes for the sticks to fit into so floral foam wasn't needed. They just filled in the empty spots with tissue paper. Only problem, the container wasn't very decorative. (Plan and blagh) I like to try to find containers or items that fit a persons personality. Good example, I found really pretty hat boxes in Michaels. With a 40% off coupon they weren't expensive at all. I bought a bunch and plan to use them to put cakes in. (I make an almond pound cake with an orange glaze that people really seem to like.) The pound cakes should fit into the boxes perfectly.

You could try the dollar stores sometimes they have all kinds of interesting containers that are attractive and inexpensive.

hey price how about making some rectangular cookies (probably same shape you're using for the credit cards) and make boxes with her favorite stores name on it. You know like she bought some clothes from there??? That could be cute in the shopping cart.

That's a great idea. I hadn't thought of that. I was just thinking of a dress, shoe, etc. I like the box idea!

Tastebuddie, I don't mind at all sharing the recipe. I'll try to get it to you soon.
