Does anyone have the copper colored KA mixer? I'm in love with it! Just so puuurrity! I have an almond colored one, but when I upgrade to a bigger size, might have to go copper!

OOOhh, the satisfaction of the KA, is almost a good substitution for the chocolate we crave...... I guess that would be because it is the anticipation of the baked chocolate product we bake to give into our desires(some might call that forplay) LOL

Oh my hubby just bought me one on Saturday! Our 10th anniversary is this summer so I started dropping hints now, but he decided not to wait! In the model I wanted, the Professional 5 Plus, they only had a couple of colors, so hubby played it safe and brought home white, but its still the prettiest thing I ever saw icon_smile.gif

Hello all

I've been reading the comments on the mixers. I question is why is it so much better than Sumbeam when the ones that I've compared the Sunbeam have 350 watts and the KA has 250 and the paddle, but least features.

The Sunbeam cost less.

Thank you,
DeeDee44

I have both, a sunbeam and a kitchen aid........the paddle really makes a HUGE difference!!!!!! I agree with you.....they're so expensive!!!!!!!!!

My sunbeam even came with 2 bowls and I paid a
lot less for it than my KA, but it doesn't have a paddle.

There are different sizes of the KA.

Suzanne--are they cheaper in NL than in D? Here they are crazy expensive (compared to back home). I want to buy one soooo badly, but I can't justify it (yet!!) because everytime I think "uggggh! I could buy 3 for this price at home" everytime I look at the price tag. LOL I don't kow how much longer I can hold out though... icon_biggrin.gif I hadn't thought about looking online in surrounding countries for prices...hmmm.

The factory where the KA's are made is only about 1 hour away from my house. I have heard that you can go there and "build" your own. They help you assemble your own. I so wanted to do that. It was so hard to choose a color. I really wanted the pink one, but the metallic chrome one matches my kitchen much better. Now when ever I go to the store, I stare at the other colors. I almost want one in each color, like shoes!! I do need to start gettingthe other attachements, but I think I will start with a second bowl and a second paddle. thumbs_up.gif

I had the same color delimma also. I wanted a pink one also, but ended up buying a blue one because it matched my kitchen colors better. Sometimes being practical is no fun! Like my teenage daughter says about shoes, I think this quote works for the KA also...."If the shoe fits, buy it in every color!"

Ok Guys, I'm new here and I hope this is ok....
I have a KA....and I love it....and it has served me well for many years....but 2 years ago I got a Bosch.....it is the best investment I have ever made. It can easily do 3 batch's of buttercream at one time. I use it for bread as well....it can take 20cups of flour with no problem. It does not take up much more room than the KA ....and it just does an incredible job. The lady who told me about them baked 100 loaves of bread every week for about 10 years....her machine was 20 years old and she still did bread with it. Just wanted to share......

I also loved my Kitchen Aid. I received it almost five years ago as a christmas gift. This year since I wanted something with a larger capacity but still big enough to fit on my counter, I decided to purchase a 7 quart delonghi mixer. Its relatively new and so far no complaints, just having 2nd thoughts if I should've opted for the 6 Qt Kitchen Aid.

I have the Kitchen Aid 6 qt. Bought it for myself as a christmas present. Love it!! I don't like how it shakes though. And, the paddle totally turned color on me. But otherwise, its great!!

Perhaps a silly question but what size capacity do you need to be able to mix 2 cake mixes or 2 cake recipes at a time? I have an older kitchen aid but I have to do each cake mix separately.
