Someone handed me a flexible rose bundt pan and asked me to bake a Birthday cake. Can someone tell me if I need to grease and flour it or spray it? What temperature do I bake at? I was considering a red velvet cake and maybe using red candy melts to make some type of frosting. Has anyone got an idea??? Help, help!!!
Hi!
Silicone pans don't have to be greased but rinse it with cold water before filling in the batter.
Temperature as suggested in the recipe.
Probably baking time can be shorter - have a look!
When the cake is done pull it right out of the oven on a cooling wrack. Do not lift the pan as you do with the normal ones. The cake may be cracking. Or use the rack where you baked it on and remove the whole thing from the oven. Let it cool. Stretch the sides to prevent sticking. Flip it over. Strip the silicone pan away (inside out if necessary)
To make an easy frosting:
Clean the silicone pan. Melt your candy melts and add a little bit of shortening. Pour them in the pan. Cover the inside of the pan with the candy melts mix (use a brush). Put the cake in again and refrigerate. After the candy melts are cooled completely, flip the cake over and gently strip the silicone pan away.
Probably you can make a test run?
Have fun!
I love the idea of the melted candy melts and then putting the cake back in with that rose pan.....makes me want to go right out and buy one...that sounds like it would be beautiful!
