Can anyone tell me how to use rice paper. I used some on Saturday and you could see where the paper ended. What is the correct way to apply rice paper. 
I use a thin layer of piping gel over the area I want to apply the rice paper then place the motif. I use a dry brush from the center out to the edges to even out. If the edge is noticable, you might want to add a border around the edge and make it look like part of the design.

I turn the rice paper over and cover it in buttercream then I "glue" it to the cake and smooth it out. I decorate the sides of the rice paper first so it won't pull up as it dries out quick when it get the frosting on it.

I used it on another cake and what I did was, drew the picture on the rice paper after I had measured it and then barely laid it in some cold water and immediately put in on the cake. Beautiful. I will be posting that cake this evening.
