It's hard. It's very hard. I've made sugar cookies with buttercream icing for years. Today I made sugar cookies and decorated with RI. I can't believe how hard it is to get amateurish results. It's hard to get the icing the right consistency. I made round cookies, and I couldn't get the outline in a nice circle. Then I had trouble flooding. Then I couldn't get the decorative outline to match the other one. They are presentable, but not worthy of selling, I don't think. This is my practice batch, for preparation for Easter. It's not like I've never used a pastry bag before, but this really wasn't easy. I greatly admire those who do it well.
I can relate, peanut but I bet they aren't as bad as you say. The consistency is going to take some practice, I think, I noticed that when I did mine two weeks ago. Keep with the bc icing, if that is what you do best, unless royal has been requested and play with the royal when you have time.
Keep going! Post those pics, I bet we'll love 'em. It's aggravating but things worth doing can be. Look to your sig for inspiration!
Peanut, It's really not that hard once you get the icing to the right consistency. Keep trying.. you'll love it once you get the hang of it. I would love to see your pictures..
I dont' have a camera but I will borrow my daughters. Then I will see if someone can help me post it on this thread. I don't think I want them in my gallery.
Peanut I wish I had photos of my cookies to share with you. I made a slew load but was in a hurry going out the door and had to pack them quickly into a plastic container (they were going to my parents and we were meeting them for lunch). I wasn't thrilled but they didn't *completely* stink.
My next batch is going to be chocolate so I will post those and that will give you confidence to post your own because you will be saying, "holy cow, mine look better than those...."
