I have taken classes, but they were not Wilton. I have worked in the field and learned on my own.

Have any of you been accepted as instructors with those credentials? Or do I need to take the Wilton Method classes to better my odds.

Have all of you taken Wilton classes?

I know I took all 3 Wilton Courses before I started teaching. I had been accepted as an instructor BEFORE I took my 3rd course, but waited to start teaching until after I had taken it so I would know how all 3 classes were supposed to run. My suggestion would be that it might not hurt to take the classes so you are familiar with teaching The Wilton Way. Submit an application at Wilton's website, and they will do a phone interview and request pictures be sent. That's usually how they make their decisions from what I remember . (Sorry by it's been 5 years since I started teaching and the older I get the more I forget....lol)

Howdy,

I applied to become a WMI when my neighbor suggested it. I took all three Wilton Courses over two years ago. I think that it would probably do you some good to take them, but you can always tell them your background first. They may or may not accept you, but when you are accepted, you get a lot of info to help you teach it. I have been teaching only since January of this year and believe it or not, my students thought I have been teaching for years! Weren't they surprised when they found out!! Good luck!
