Has anyone taken any good classes that they would reccomend? I am wanting to learn how to make beautiful cakes like in all the competitions, mainly interested in flowers and just curious who you think the best person to take them from. I live in PA but would be willing to travel if worth it (just not overseas yet can't afford that one). Thanks
I've never taken them, but you can take classes directly from Wilton. They're located outside of Chicago. Go to their website and check out the schedule. http://www.wilton.com/classes/index.cfm
I've heard that Colette Peters teaches too, but don't know much about when or where. Maybe someone here knows more.
EDIT:
Ooooh! Looks like Colette teaches a class for Wilton.... http://www.wilton.com/classes/wiltonschool/class.cfm?id=1277C0FF-475A-BAC0-50B1064D53A3461E
check your local Michaels, Hobby Lobby, or community colleges for cake decorating classes. Also, your local private bakeries may also offer classes.

I was a Wilton instructor at Michaels for 3+ years so unfortunately they don't offer anything I haven't taught. I am more interested in gumpaste delicate flowers. My main reason for posting this question is because my family ask what I want for holidays or Christmas and if plan enough in advance then I might be able to get classes from them. Cake camp sounds awsome but not feasable for this year Thanks for everyones input!

Earlene sells videos and DVDs of her classes. They are quite good. Nicholas Lodge has plenty of DVD and videos also.
