I have been trying to figure out how to make the dome on a basketweave cake that is pictured on the front of the 1997 Wilton yearbook. I'm sure that it is something really simple but because I am new to decorating, I just can't look at it and determine what to use or how to do it. I'm going to try to insert the picture. If you have the book or know what to use to get that dome, please let me know. Thanks so much!!

I am not too sure but what I an read, they added 4-mini sport ball cakes on top to give it that effect. Hope that helps!

Using the ball pan (not the mini ball), place only one half round on the cake. Ice it and then put your flowers on it.

Thank you so much Doug for sending me the instructions. That was really kind of you to do. Thank you to all who responded and helped me with this. I really do appreciate it. I just love the look of that cake and now I know how to make it. The flowers may not be as pretty when I do my cake but at least the shape will be the same icon_smile.gif Thanks again everyone. You guys are the BEST!!
