I am a newbie and have never used piping gel for a transfer. I made my own gel w/recipe found on this site using knox gelatin, water and corn syrup. It's not very thick, but since I've never used it, I'm not sure how thick it should be. HELP!

The piping gel that I use is the consistency of Welch's Grape Jelly ...it took me a while to come up with something that was similar in texture and consistency but that's it...Welch's Grape Jelly...different color, of course! HTH!
