I am trying to make this tiered cupcake for a shower. Can someone tell me what kind of tip I need to use to get this effect with the frosting?

TIA

Looks like a tip 402 to me. But, I'm not a pro, so I could be wrong.

A 1M will do those nice swirls.

Looks like one of the ruffle tips, but I'm stumped.

To me it looks like the large star tip to do the swirl, except it looks like they kept up the pressure so it kinda bunched up on itself (like when you make the clowns-sorry most recent thing I can think of to explain it)

So hold your bag on the outside edge, squeeze until you start getting a ruffle then work your way around the cupcake.

Not sure if this will work, but can give it a try.

It really looks like a leaf tip to me, as I said earlier, but I was thinking...where'd you get this pic? Is there any way you could ask the "creator"?

I have no idea what tip you would use, but it is a really nice effect. Please let us know if you figure out how to achieve it.

Hey everyone thanks for the advice. I found the pic at sugarcraft. It was part of advertisement for the cupcake tiers, so I'm not really sure that they know who did them.

I am looking in my Wilton Decorating tips chart. It looks like one of the large ruffle tips maybe 402, 403,or 406.

It looks like a large leaf tip to me. But I would like to know how they make those beatiful daisies! I have trouble making mine look that nice. What tips do you use?

I was looking at the daisys too. It looks like they make them in a lily nail. Those cupcake are so SPRING!

I say ruffle tip, but who knows?

I want to know how they made their cupcakes so "straight" instead of a little wider at the top than the bottom. Is there a cupcake pan that is straight up and down? All mine have the slight taper to them.

Very pretty!

I thought the same as Leily with the star tip. Even if that's not the exact tip they used I bet you would get the same effect.

I agree, it looks a lot like a ruffle tip to me.

Those daiseys are soooo pretty, y'all think fondant with a lily nail?

golfgirl, I saw some cupcake tins from England that were more cylindrical. I can't remember where I saw them but they're out there.

I think the cupcakes are done with a leaf tip, I remember making those ruffly things by accident when I was trying to get rid of the rest of the icing in my bag. Now this might be way out, but I think those daisies are made with a leaf tip (67?) They look veined in the center of each petal to me, and if your icing was a little stiff, instead of a pointed leaf end, I think it would just break off and you'd get that petal look. icon_confused.gif

It sounds like we had all better get out our tips and take a crack at it. Pancake thanks for pointing out about the leaf tip. Now that I look at it the daisys do look like that tip. THanks! icon_biggrin.gif
