DO I NEED TO ADD ANYTHING ELSE WHEN BOILING THE JAM?

I DON'T HAVE A SIEVE CAN I USE A FINE STRAINER? IS THIS TO REMOVE LIQUID FROM THE JAM?

WHEN YOU BRUSH THE HOT JAM WILL IT SEEP THROUGH A LITTLE I KIND OF WANT THAT EFFECT (THE RASPBERRY MIXING IN WITH THE WC CAKE)

COOL AT ROOM TEMP THEN CHILL IN FRIG OR JUST AT ROOM TEMP?

No,just bring it to a boil for 1 minute strain and off you go. A fine strainer will work thats all a sieve is, its just shaped like a pointed hats all. Are you brushing the cake or the icing? You can cool it at room temp or in the fridge doesn't matter.

I am brushing it on the cake and I want to add icing on top of that.
